Application

POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE is a highly alkaline compound used to contrl the PH in KCL water base muds. It will further assit in the solubility of deflocculant, e. g. lignosulflonate and chrome lignite. Additon of POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE increases the hydration rate of clays. High PH is an aid to controlling corrosion and to combat H₂S gas.

Recommended treatment

POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE should be added to the mud as an aqueous solution. Dissolve the POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE in a chemical barrel and ad slowly over a complete circulation.
